Squaring the square |

This "puzzle" where squares of order 1 to n has
to be integrated in a larger square of edge length m is a really
difficult task. It is not possible to integrate all smaller squares in the larger
one. There will be allways some open white space which could
not be filled with squares. This simple geometrical problem result in a
new "rest function" for squares in a square. The minimum rest function is a numerical series which is now available in the On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences as series number A295130. |
